About Beaver County United Coed Softball League

BCUCSL is a 5/5 coed league, sanctioned by the ASA of Pennsylvania.  There are two seasons, summer and fall, starting in early May and running through October.  There is an All-Star game and a HR Derby midway through the summer season.  Each season ends with a championship tournament, seeds for the tournaments are determined based on the results of the standings.

The females hit an 11 inch, .44 core ball and the males hit an 12 inch, .44 core ball.  Females are permitted to swing double wall and composite bats.  Males are only permitted to swing single wall bats.  No titanium or Miken bats allowed for both male and female.

There are several competitive teams form this league that travel to tournaments in Cleveland, Michigan, Columbus, Ocean City, and Florida.  Most teams that travel place well in these tournaments.

This league was originally formed in the early 1990's.  It grew to being one, if not the, biggest rec leagues in Pennsylvania.  The success of this league is a result of how it is run, by the players.

There are elected officers in place, but all decisions are determined by a league wide vote by a representative from each team.  Rule changes, schedules, issues, etc. are all discussed and decided on by team representatives which form the Board of Directors.
